Can logging actually be good for the environment?
Thinning out sections of a forest can be beneficial for several reasons. First, removing hazardous trees allows quality wood to grow by guiding more sunlight into the woods. Second, the brush left behind from logging creates new nesting grounds for forest animals. The brush can also shield acorns from deer so that young trees can thrive.

What does SFI certified mean?
R&J Logging is SFI (Sustainable Forest Initiative) certified. This class teaches how to safely harvest trees while obtaining the most value. They also learn how to environmentally divert rainfall to avoid erosion. Logging employees must also have current first aid and CPR training to maintain this certification.
